ViridianK9s – Terms & Conditions
By booking or participating in any ViridianK9s service, session, class, walk, event or training programme, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the following:
1. General Declaration
1.1 You confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
1.2 You accept full legal responsibility for your dog’s behaviour, safety and wellbeing at all times unless your dog is under the direct supervision of ViridianK9s during an agreed service period.
1.3 You acknowledge that dog training, group activities and public exposure sessions involve inherent risks due to the unpredictable nature of animals and external environments.
1.4 ViridianK9s does not guarantee specific behavioural outcomes. Progress depends on owner consistency and adherence to guidance provided.
2. Booking & Payment
2.1 All services must be booked in advance.
2.2 Full payment is required to secure individual sessions unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.3 Packages must be paid in full prior to commencement unless a written payment plan has been agreed.
2.4 Packages and sessions are non-refundable once commenced.
2.5 Prices are subject to change. Confirmed bookings will honour the agreed rate at the time of booking.
3. Cancellations & Attendance
3.1 A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule.
3.2 Cancellations within 48 hours may be charged in full.
3.3 Failure to attend without notice may result in forfeiture of the session.
3.4 Late arrival may result in a shortened session without extension or refund.
3.5 Packages must be used within the agreed timeframe. Expired sessions are non-refundable.
4. Health & Welfare
4.1 Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations or valid titre testing.
4.2 Dogs must be free from contagious illness.
4.3 Dogs displaying diarrhoea, vomiting, coughing, lethargy or other signs of illness must not attend.
4.4 Owners must disclose any relevant medical conditions.
4.5 ViridianK9s reserves the right to refuse participation where a dog is deemed unfit.
5. Behavioural Disclosure
5.1 Owners must disclose any known behavioural concerns prior to participation, including but not limited to aggression, bite history, guarding, reactivity or previous incidents.
5.2 Failure to disclose relevant behavioural history may result in immediate removal from services without refund.
6. Legal Compliance (Dangerous Dogs Act 1991)
6.1 Owners of breeds specified under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, including XL Bully types where applicable, must provide:
a) A valid exemption certificate
b) Proof of third-party liability insurance
c) Confirmation of compliance with legal requirements including muzzling and lead laws
6.2 Owners remain solely responsible for full legal compliance at all times.
7. Handling & Control
7.1 Owners must maintain full control of their dog at all times.
7.2 Dogs must not approach other dogs or handlers without permission.
7.3 Appropriate, secure equipment must be used as advised.
8. Muzzle Requirements
8.1 Where a muzzle is required, the dog must attend wearing an appropriately fitted, bite-proof muzzle.
8.2 An appropriate muzzle must:
a) Allow full panting
b) Allow treat delivery
c) Not dig into the dog’s face
d) Be secure and escape-proof
8.3 The following are not accepted:
a) Biothane strap muzzles
b) Grooming or wrap muzzles that hold the mouth closed
c) Soft fabric or mesh muzzles
d) Any non bite-proof muzzle
8.4 Dogs wearing unsuitable muzzles will be refused participation without refund.
8.5 Suitable providers include The Muzzle Movement, Big Snoof Gear and Unimon. ViridianK9s reserves the right to determine suitability.
9. Equipment Standards & Welfare Protection
9.1 ViridianK9s reserves the right to require removal, replacement or adjustment of any equipment deemed unsafe or detrimental to welfare.
9.2 This includes ill-fitted harnesses, unsafe collars, oversized or undersized prong collars, low-quality electronic collars or incorrectly fitted equipment.
9.3 Only approved brands are permitted where applicable, including:
a) Herm Sprenger (prong collars only)
b) Mini Educator
c) Dogtra
9.4 Gentle Leader-style head collars and figure-of-8 equipment are not accepted.
9.5 Where head collars are required, ViridianK9s advocates for brands such as 2Posh2Pull.
9.6 Slip leads must be correctly sized and fitted. Inappropriate slip leads will not be accepted.
9.7 Recommended slip leads include those from Horizon K9. Where equipment is unsuitable, owners may be required to purchase appropriate alternatives before continuing. No refund will be issued.
10. Day Train & Supervised Services
10.1 Dogs may be transported and exposed to public environments.
10.2 Structured crate rest and regulation periods may be used.
10.3 Owners confirm the dog is suitable for transport and exposure.
11. Liability & Third-Party Risk
11.1 Participation carries inherent risk.
11.2 Owners accept full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their dog.
11.3 ViridianK9s accepts no liability arising from undisclosed history, failure to follow guidance, owner negligence or environmental factors.
11.4 ViridianK9s cannot control third-party dogs or members of the public.
11.5 In the event of an external incident, reasonable action will be taken, but no liability is accepted for circumstances beyond reasonable control.
12. Professional Accountability & Refund Policy
12.1 Training outcomes depend on owner implementation.
12.2 Where owners fail to follow the agreed training plan, no responsibility is accepted for lack of progress.
12.3 No refunds will be issued due to insufficient results where guidance has not been implemented.
12.4 Professional time and expertise remain chargeable regardless of owner follow-through.
12.5 Fulfilment & Suitability Clause
Where a 1–1 session is booked for obedience training and the dog presents as significantly under-fulfilled, overstimulated or lacking appropriate outlets, ViridianK9s reserves the right to redirect the session toward fulfilment and regulation foundations. If declined, no refund will be issued.
12.6 Commitment to Training Plan
Where private services are booked and a structured training plan has been provided, the owner agrees to follow the agreed methodology and guidance for the duration of the programme.
12.7 Conflicting Advice
The use of external training advice, including but not limited to social media content, third-party trainers or alternative methods that conflict with the agreed training plan, may compromise consistency and progress.
12.8 Termination for Non-Compliance
Where conflicting methods are introduced without prior discussion and agreement, ViridianK9s reserves the right to terminate the package with immediate effect. No refund will be issued.
13. Property Access & Home Collection
13.1 Owners grant permission for property entry where collection or drop-off services are booked.
13.2 Owners accept full responsibility for property condition, fencing and access points.
13.3 No liability is accepted for escape due to structural failure or unsafe environments.
13.4 If the environment is unsafe, the session may be cancelled and charged in full.
14. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service
14.1 ViridianK9s reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services at its sole discretion.
14.2 This includes safety concerns, legal non-compliance, behavioural risk, non-payment or inappropriate conduct.
14.3 Discontinuation due to breach of terms will not result in refund.
15. Media Consent
15.1 Photographs and videos may be used for promotional purposes unless written notice is provided in advance.
16. Amendments
16.1 ViridianK9s reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
